Reviews and Ratings
My stay at Red Lion Hotel in downtown Boise, ID had its ups and downs. The rooms were okay; they had a large window that provided a nice open feel, but they got extremely steamy after a shower. The service was unfriendly and unhelpful, and there were some concerning practices with pets in the parking lot. The location was convenient, being a short drive from downtown attractions, but the surroundings were a bit spooky. The dining experience was below average, with additional charges for breakfast that was supposed to be included. Despite these drawbacks, the hotel had its positive aspects that stood out.
The room had a very nice view, and a special thank you to Jay, the most helpful, polite, and professional receptionist I've ever met. However, the room was very dirty with dust on fixtures and floor, long hairs on the bed sheets, a musty smell, and pee stains in the bathroom. Plus, the presence of about ten police officers early in the morning was quite scary.
The hotel was conveniently close to an exit and the ice machine, but the rooms could have been bigger for the price paid and a bit cleaner. There was a very strong odor of cleaner that required leaving the door open to air out, and a leak from the vent onto the floor. The carpet throughout the hotel was old, worn, and emitted odors.
